Full Text Search & Advanced Search

CommonSpot supports proprietary and open source search engine functionality for full-text search queries.  As long as full-text search indexing is enabled, and specific page configurations do not exclude indexing, CommonSpot automatically re-indexes pages when they change.

To enable search functionality, page data is first indexed into a collection, a set of files and file metadata optimized for searching. You can create new search collections and improve performance and search relevancy by assigning sites and subsites to specific collections.

CommonSpot supports the SOLR open source search engine, a highly scalable server architecture. You can create and manage collections as appropriate through CommonSpot Site and Subsite Administration and functions.

For more information on configuring CommonSpot full-text indexing capabilities, refer to Manage Full Text Search Collections.
