Strategic Alignment of Human Capital
The course is designed to help managers and entrepreneurs improve business results by making better decisions about the management of human capital. Focus will be on mapping business models, identifying "pivot points" where human capital investments have the highest marginal value, and designing programs that align employees' skills and efforts with the achievement of organizational strategies. While students anticipating a career in human resource management and organizational development will benefit from this class, it is explicitly designed to give general managers the knowledge and skills they need to develop frameworks to diagnose problems, propose solutions, and make effective resource allocation decisions. Prerequisite: MGT 342.
