Video Gaming Technologies (VGT) is one of the leading manufacturers of games for Class II and emerging gaming markets. A 550-employee company with a presence in three states including Tennessee, it is continually challenged to find new and innovative ways to provide consumers with a gaming experience that is deemed “irresistible.” To gain an edge in a highly competitive market, VGT’s management team asked the Vanderbilt Executive Development Institute to help them exercise “out of the box” thinking. The goal: to improve their ability to generate innovative ideas for new games and help identify creative, inventive ways to improve operations processes and efficiencies.
Vanderbilt’s Custom Solution for Video Gaming Technologies
Vanderbilt’s faculty devised a series of four challenging and interactive Innovation Workshops that were logically sequenced over a two-day period. All workshops were designed to help VGT’s leadership team focus on ways to successfully foster innovative thinking and creative problem solving within the culture and structure of their organization. The Innovation Workshops covered topics in four major areas including group and organizational dynamics; regulation, tradition and societal change; creating an innovation design brief; and applying the innovation process.
Excellent thought-provoking program and a useful tool to implement in our strategic direction/decision-making process.
