PhD in Management—Organization Studies
Organization Studies PhD students develop expertise in the related fields of organizational behavior and organization theory. Current faculty research interests and projects revolve around organizational conflict, groups and teams, organizational change, innovation and creativity, ethics, diversity, negotiation, new organizational forms, motivation, leadership and other such topics.
Working within the general degree requirements, the PhD student and the faculty advisor design a program of study to match the student's research interests. In the primary field of Organization Studies, students typically select courses from the areas of organizational behavior, organization theory and human resource management, supplemented with course work from allied disciplines elsewhere at Vanderbilt University.
