Owen's chapter of Net Impact hosted a recycling drive as part of Green Week. Net Impact's mission is to make a positive impact on society by growing and strengthening a community of new leaders who use business to improve the world. Items such as cell phones, ink cartridges, batteries, eye glasses, CDs, telephone books and class packs were collected during the drive. As part of Green Week, Net Impact also encouraged students to walk, ride, or carpool to school. The club also organized a trash pickup at Hamilton Creek Metro Park, a St. Patrick's day party, sold free trade coffee and invited local sustainable businesspeople to the Thursday evening social. The week culminated with a "Careers with Impact" Symposium that gave students a chance to hear from industry leaders in the new sustainable economy.
