The first ever BrandWeek took place over fall break 2009. It was designed as an immersion week for marketing students and kicked off with a brand building workshop at Owen, followed by three days of on-site visits to prominent companies based in Louisville, KY. The first visit was to Brown Forman where students heard from several high level executives on a range of topics including corporate social responsibility and the nature of global brands. The next visit was to GE, which included presentations on their overall marketing strategy by the CMO and on eco-friendly home products by the innovation team. Humana was the final destination which also included a broad range of topics for discussion. The week was a huge success, providing students with an inside perspective on highly successful companies.
