American Airlines

2008
American Airlines, Inc. is the largest airline in the world in terms of total passengers, miles transported and passenger fleet size, and the second largest airline companies in the world in terms of total operating revenues. With a significant increase in fuel costs in recent years, and a decrease in overall airline traffic, American Airlines asked Accelerator teams to help position the company as the leading carrier for travelers from small- to medium-sized enterprises (SME). When addressing the challenge, teams created a SME frequent flier program that addressed the specific needs of the SME traveler.
What They’re Saying:
“The Accelerator program clearly lives up to its name. At the end of four weeks, these young people have accelerated their careers tremendously. This was a wonderful experience for American Airlines and we would encourage any company to jump into this program.”
Rob Britton, Advisor to the Chairman, American Airlines
Winning Team:
Adam Albright, John Del Piero, Lindsey Drake, Chris Harris, Alison Morris, Paige Parkey, Anna Rogers, Jeff Rosage, Chris Skene, Neal Watterson, Jennifer Wu
Winning Experience:
American Airlines flew the entire winning team to company headquarters in Ft. Worth, Texas to present their ideas to the global marketing team.
