Assessment
This is an intensive program suited to people who are committed to working hard at both work and school and who are at a stage in their careers where they can reap the rewards of that commitment. During the application process, we will look at:
- Your project management and budget experience, career progression, and proven leadership and supervisory skills
- Your current level of management responsibility
- Your opportunities to apply the program’s content to your organization
- Your academic preparation, including college, post-graduate and GMAT performance
- Your ability to contribute to the classroom experience based on qualifications relative to others in a competitive pool of applicants
Admissions Timeline
Once your application is complete, we will notify you of the admissions decision promptly. Application review is on a rolling basis for the class entering in August. While applicants may apply at any time, please consider these deadlines:
- Allow sufficient time to prepare for the GMAT. We are happy to counsel you based on a GMAT score to determine whether you should retake the test. Sometimes, additional preparation (Math Camp and/or our online math course) is a condition of admission. Priority enrollment deadline is May 31. June and July decisions will be made as needed to fill the class
- Math Camp (three Saturdays in July) is complimentary for admitted students. We strongly encourage you to complete the application prior to June 1 so that we have ample time to determine if Math Camp is right for you
- From January through July, decisions are made by the first week of each month for applications completed by the prior month’s end. After June 1, applications will be considered if space is available, or for the following year

Tuition each semester for the academic year 2008-09 is $22,850, payable in October and February. Many Executive MBA students receive some level of support and sponsorship from their employer. About one-third of students are fully self-funded. For more information about the benefits of the Executive MBA to the sponsoring employer.
Student Loans
Executive MBA students may apply for loans as full-time students via the Vanderbilt Financial Aid Office. To learn more about your options, visit the following websites:

Because students are working executives capable of funding education through corporate sponsorships, loans and cash flow, scholarships are not available.
Yellow Ribbon GI Educational Enhancement Program
Eligible veterans can attend Vanderbilt University at a significantly reduced cost thanks to the school’s participation in the Yellow Ribbon GI Educational Enhancement Program. Under the Yellow Ribbon Program, a part of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008, colleges and universities can work with the federal government to offer reduced tuition and fees to veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. To be eligible, veterans must have served three years on active duty or at least 30 continuous days before being discharged for service-related injuries since the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks. A $10,000 discount from both Vanderbilt and the government will be available for veterans who enroll in the Owen Graduate School of Management.
