The MBA/MS in Nursing joint degree program is uniquely designed to prepare nurse administrators for top-level management positions in various health care settings. As with other graduate joint degrees, admission is required to both the Vanderbilt School of Nursing and the Owen Graduate School of Management.
Students typically complete their required course work over five semesters and one summer of full-time study. All admitted students should enroll in the online math camp (review course) offered through Owen in the summer preceding fall enrollment. As with other joint professional and graduate degrees, the number of hours required to earn the MBA credential is reduced from 61 to 49 hours because Owen will give credit for 12 hours of course work from the Nursing School.
