Language Requirements
In most cases, international applicants are required to take the TOEFL. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) will be waived only for candidates who have earned a university degree in an English speaking country—not just an English-speaking institution—or those who have lived and worked in an English-speaking country for the past two or more years. We will also accept the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) in lieu of the TOEFL.

Discover Weekend
Discover Weekends are weekend events (Friday evening to Saturday evening) and are a great opportunity to learn more about the MS Finance program, Owen and Vanderbilt. Applicants will meet MSF alumni, current students, faculty and staff involved with the program. Applicants will also have a chance to experience the collaborative community offered at Owen, with social activities designed to introduce prospective Master of Accountancy (MAcc), MS Finance and MBA students to one another. As part of the evaluative interview process, applicants may be required to interview with the MSF faculty director during the visit. Discover Weekend for MSF is scheduled for February 12-13, 2010.
Welcome Weekend
Welcome Weekend is a weekend event (Friday evening to Saturday evening) specifically for admitted students. This weekend is a great opportunity to get to know and interact with fellow incoming students, as well as to learn more about what to expect in the program and about living in Nashville. Welcome Weekend for MSF is scheduled for April 9-10, 2010.
Off Campus Interview Process
If you are invited to interview with a member of the Owen Admissions Committee, and we are in your local market, an in-person interview may be required. Regardless, a phone or in-person interview is required before an offer of admission can be made. While we encourage you to meet with an admissions officer who is visiting your market at an event, telephone interviews are acceptable and given equal consideration in our evaluation.
