The PhD program in Organization Studies at the Owen Graduate School of Management is designed to develop outstanding scholars for careers in research and teaching at leading universities. Doctoral students in Organization Studies can also pursue research interests in the related fields of organizational behavior and organization theory.
Current faculty research interests and projects revolve around organizational conflict, groups and teams, organizational change, innovation and creativity, ethics, diversity, negotiation, new organizational forms, motivation, leadership, and other such topics.
The doctoral program is designed to expose students to the broad range of topics that fall under the rubric of organization studies, and at the same time prepare them to undertake in-depth study and research in a specialized area. We seek students of high intellectual ability whose scholarly objectives fit well with current faculty research topics and activities.
Because of its small size, the program affords a great deal of flexibility for the student to develop a course of study that matches his or her individual interests.
