Admissions Events

Discover Weekend
Discover Weekends are weekend events (Friday evening to Saturday evening) and are a great opportunity to learn more about the MS Finance program, Owen and Vanderbilt. Applicants will meet MSF alumni, current students, faculty and staff involved with the program. Applicants will also have a chance to experience the collaborative community offered at Owen, with social activities designed to introduce prospective Master of Accountancy (MAcc), MS Finance and MBA students to one another. As part of the evaluative interview process, applicants may be required to interview with the MSF faculty director during the visit.

Off-Campus Interview Process

If you are invited to interview with a member of the Owen Admissions Committee, and we are in your local market, an in-person interview may be required. Regardless, a phone or in-person interview is required before an offer of admission can be made. While we encourage you to meet with an admissions officer who is visiting your market at an event, telephone interviews are acceptable and given equal consideration in our evaluation.

After the information event, I knew that I would be surrounded with people who would do everything they could to ensure that I got all that I could from my education. I knew that I would be challenged at Owen in ways that I never had been before. I love the city of Nashville, and it seemed like a natural decision to apply at Owen.

During Welcome Weekend I was in the lobby and started talking to a fellow. We had some common interests and he was really nice. Then I glanced down at his nametag and saw that he was Dean Bradford. I then realized Owen was a place where I could feel comfortable.
