Meet the Team

Cheryl ChunnCheryl Chunn

Cheryl joined Owen in November of 2011, although she has been involved with Vanderbilt’s development efforts for the past five years and at the university for nine years. In her previous position as Director of Development for Vanderbilt University Medical Center she led a major gifts effort for Vanderbilt’s Orthopedic Institute and Bill Wilkerson Center that resulted in raising $7.2 million last fiscal year. Prior to working at the medical center, she worked as Senior Associate Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations Development and as the Director of Corporate Relations for the Medical Center. Cheryl also brings valuable experience from the private sector where she held leadership roles in health care and marketing. She has a bachelor’s degree from Valparaiso University, a master’s from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago. She is a member of the Nashville Chamber of Commerce and serves on several non-profit boards in the Nashville area.

Bill has served as the Director of Development at Owen since 2006. His primary responsibilities include major gift fundraising, Owen’s Corporate Campaigns and the Executive MBA class gift. These duties require Bill to travel extensively in order to build and maintain relationships with Owen alumni throughout the country. Bill grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, and graduated from Vanderbilt University with a BA in Economics.

Abigail Humphrey joined Owen as the Director of Alumni Relations in August 2011. Her primary focus will be to foster and increase Alumni engagement through leadership development initiatives, execution of core Alumni programs such as the CityOwen events and Alumni Weekend, and create new opportunities for Owen Alumni to connect with one another and the school at-large in meaningful ways. Abigail has served as the Alumni Director for the Latin School of Chicago and came to Owen after working for Cheekwood Botanical Garden & Museum of Art in Nashville as their Major Gifts Officer. Abigail grew up in Chicago and earned her BA in Classical Studies and French from Vanderbilt.

Kelly joined Owen as Director of Annual Giving in January 2012. Her primary responsibility is increasing annual support by working closely with Owen alumni volunteers and managing direct appeals. She has served as Director of Undergraduate Reunion Giving, Senior Class Fund, and Young Alumni in the Office of Annual Giving at Vanderbilt University. Kelly is originally from Hammond, LA. She received her BBA in Business Administration from Millsaps College and earned a M. Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University.

Julia joined the Owen team in August 2011. She assists Kelly Jamerson with the annual giving program, focusing on stewardship efforts, class gifts, and corporate campaigns. Julia is originally from Seattle and received her BS in Human and Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University and a certificate in Elementary Education from Lipscomb University.

Meg HaleMeg Hale

Meg Hale joined Owen as the Alumni Relations Assistant in November 2011. Meg will provide assistance and lead communications for all alumni events, the website, the Alumni Board, and all initiatives that foster alumni community. Meg came from The Ritz-Carlton where she was the Catering Sales and Meeting and Special Events Manager. Meg grew up in Annapolis, MD and received her Bachelors in Communication Studies from College of Charleston.

Casey joined the Development and Alumni Relations team in March 2011. She assists the Associate Dean in all fundraising and outreach activities for Owen. She also coordinates the annual Student Calling Campaign and the Student Scholarship Luncheon. Casey received a BA in Public Relations and Political Science from Belmont University.
