Representing a combination of distinguished academic researchers, leading health care practitioners and business leaders, Owen faculty work closely with student to address this rapidly growing industry from strategic, economic, ethical and operational perspectives.

	Michael Burcham Senior Lecturer of Entrepreneurship MORE ABOUT THIS FACULTY MEMBER
Michael Burcham has over 20 years of extensive experience in health care innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup venture coaching. He is a highly successful three-time entrepreneur–most recently President of ParadigmHealth, a $300-million disease management firm. 	Bruce Cooil The Dean Samuel B. and Evelyn R. Richmond Professor of Management; Faculty Director, Executive MBA MORE ABOUT THIS FACULTY MEMBER
Bruce Cooil has wide-ranging business and academic experience as a statistical modeler. He has worked with health-care firms, including HCA, Solucient, TeamHealth, Tennessee Oncology, and LIFETEST creating models for the delivery of more effective health care services, and to develop forecasts of mortality and morbidity rates. In the area of marketing research, he has worked with Ipsos Loyalty and AT&T. Bruce has also written and consulted on medical malpractice and automobile insurance claims and indemnities, and has developed predictive insurance models for AARP and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. 	Rangaraj Ramanujam Associate Professor of Management MORE ABOUT THIS FACULTY MEMBER
Rangaraj "Ranga" Ramanujam is a leading researcher and consultant on the organizational causes and consequences of errors in high-risk work settings. His research has appeared in the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, Medical Care, Journal of Patient Safety, Journal of Applied Psychology, and other journals. 	R. Lawrence Van Horn Associate Professor of Management (Economics); Executive Director of Health Affairs MORE ABOUT THIS FACULTY MEMBER
Lawrence Van Horn is a leading expert on health care management and economics. His research on health care organizations, managerial incentives in nonprofit hospitals and the conduct of managed care firms has appeared in such publications as the Journal of Health Economics, Journal of Law and Economics and Harvard Business Review. He has consulted with government and health care organizations and has presented at numerous seminars and conferences sponsored by industry, government and academic institutions. 	Tim Vogus Assistant Professor of Management MORE ABOUT THIS FACULTY MEMBER
Tim Vogus joined the Owen faculty in 2004 and specializes in such topics as leading teams and organizations, as well as negotiation. Prior to his academic career, he was a business process analyst for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), where he worked on competitive intelligence systems and multiple system implementations.

	Jim Cooper Adjunct Professor of Health Care Management; Congressman for Tennessee's 5th District MORE ABOUT THIS FACULTY MEMBER
Jim Cooper was elected as youngest congressman in America—Budget, Armed Services, Energy & Commerce, Financial Services, and Small Business Committees. He authored the chief rival to Clinton Health Care. Jim recently won the 2006 Judge Edward R. Finch Law Day Speech Award, top award in an annual competition sponsored by the American Bar Association.

	Roberta W. Goodman Adjunct Professor of Management Principal, Health Care Analytics LLC MORE ABOUT THIS FACULTY MEMBER
Roberta Goodman, a well-respected health care analyst, will join the faculty of the Health Care MBA program at Vanderbilt's Owen Graduate School of Management in January. A perennial favorite on lists of top analysts in financial publications including the Wall Street Journal and Institutional Investor, Goodman is now a principal with Nashville-based Health Care Analytics, a strategic consulting firm specializing in the health care services industry.

	Jon Lehman Adjunct Professor of Management MORE ABOUT THIS FACULTY MEMBER
Jon Lehman currently serves as Managing Director of Decora Health, a network of retail health centers that provide integrated, individualized health services that slow the effects of aging. He previously served as president and CEO of Evolved Digital Systems, a leading provider of digital-based image and information management systems for the health care industry and Executive Vice President and Director of Futurekids, Inc., an international computer training publisher that helped K-12 schools use technology to transform education. In 1990, he founded and served as Principal of The Section Companies, a consulting and private investment firm whose clients included The Walt Disney Company and Ziff-Davis.

	Gary Seay Adjunct Professor of Management MORE ABOUT THIS FACULTY MEMBER
J. Gary Seay has been teaching healthcare information technology in the Health Care MBA program since 2011. He joined Community Health Systems in February 1997 and serves as Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer.

	Dexter W. Shurney Adjunct Professor of Management Assistant Professor, Public Health/Health Policy, Vanderbilt School of Medicine MORE ABOUT THIS FACULTY MEMBER
Dr. Shurney teaches in the Owen School’s Master in Health Care program. He is also Assistant Professor, Public Health/Health Policy and Chief Medical Director, Employee Health Plan at the Vanderbilt School of Medicine.
