James 'Jamie' Jones

Professor Jones entire professional career was with KPMG LLP, from which he retired in May 2006 after serving as Managing Partner of the Nashville office since 1999.  He began his career in 1971 and transferred to Washington, D.C. National Tax Practice in 1978 on rotational assignment; transferred to the Nashville, Tennessee office in 1980; elected to the Partnership in 1981; transferred to the Greenville, South Carolina office as Partner in Charge of the tax practice in 1985; returned to Nashville in 1987 as Partner in Charge of the tax practice; appointed Managing Partner in Nashville in 1999. 
He has served as tax service partner and client service partner for audit clients including Central Parking, American Retirement and J. Alexander’s Corporations.
 
Post retirement Professor Jones has served as advisor to several families who had been clients for many years; provided various consulting services, including serving as liaison between management and the Board of Directors of a long term care facility and serving as interim CEO of a charitable organization.
 
He currently serves as Audit Committee Chair and member of Board of Directors of a privately held toxicology laboratory services company and as member of audit and nominating committees and Board of Directors of Cumberland Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Also is a Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants,
Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, Board of Directors for The Boys & Girls Club of Middle Tennessee and President, Belle Meade Country Club.
