Jan 18, 2010 | by Eleanor Williams

To celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 18th 2010, members of the Owen Black Student's Association arranged for Dr. Raquel Hatter, the President/CEO of Family Children Services in Nashville, to speak at Owen. The entire faculty, student body, and the Dean were invited to attend the catered lunch-time session. The topic of the day was appropriately "The Character of a Leader: Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr." Dr. Hatter delivered her talk with a heart-felt enthusiasm, and a bit of humor, while touching on the specific qualities the enabled Dr. King to be such a successful leader.
