Study Abroad in Chile 2010

Mar 30, 2010 | by Paige Brown

I traveled in January to the other end of the world with two other Owen students to participate in an exchange at the Pontifica Universidad Catolica in Santiago, Chile. We took classes alongside Chilean students and an array of other exchange students from top universities in the US. The classes were very educational from an international perspective, I took Negotiations – focusing on negotiations between developed and developing countries. Chile is a country diverse in culture, natural wonders, and sustains a stable and growing economy – the perfect place to learn about these international subjects. Alongside our business school classes, we chose to take a Spanish immersion course, which improved our language skills immensely. Since the program was a "summer term" we were given a month to get out and see a large portion of Chile and Argentina. Traveling through the different regions of these countries only made me want to see more of South America and what it has to offer. The overall experience was wonderful, the students at PUC were welcoming and excited to have us there and the educational aspect could not be replicated anywhere else. Spending a module in Chile was probably the best decision that I have made thus far in my business school career.
