Accounting Concentration

Vanderbilt's accounting courses help you understand and assess how well a company's accounting performance reflects economic reality. Our courses turn you into a sophisticated interpreter of accounting information. You will know the functions, limitations and challenges of financial accounting and understand and evaluate financial accounting reporting practices. You will understand the role of financial reporting in the capital markets and appreciate its importance as a tool for business managers.

Owen's accounting faculty members are actively involved in accounting and auditing research. Accounting faculty members serve on the editorial boards of leading accounting research journals and are often cited in leading business media like the Wall Street Journal.
