
May/Summer Study Abroad Programs
Owen students can choose from several study abroad opportunities for May/Summer, some of which can be completed prior to beginning an internship in June. Examples are listed below. Each program accepts students from multiple business schools in Europe, the United States, Canada and Australia. All programs are taught in English and some offer optional intensive language courses.

“The Changing Environment for International Business in Europe”
This program covers the following topics: European Integration: The Single European; Market of the EU and European Monetary Union; Doing Business in Eastern Europe; Restructuring Companies in Transition Economies; European Corporate Governance; Labor Markets in Europe; The Environment of Mergers and Acquisitions: European Competition Policies; and European Financial Markets.

“Managing Natural Resources at the Top of Europe”
Natural Resource Management: The Norwegian Model - will cover important aspects of natural resource management and policy regimes, examining the whole length of the resource value chain, from exploration and production to end-use, and the economic “value chain,” from macroeconomic aspects via sectors and markets to the firms and consumers at the micro level.

“Successful Leadership in Europe”
This program will cover social, economic and political issues in European business; corporate governance and leadership in European businesses; new markets in Eastern Europe; retailing landscape in Europe (Case: Wal-Mart in Europe); differences in consumer behavior in Europe; and leadership succession in European family businesses.
