Meet the Team
Associate Dean of Development and Alumni Relations
Erik Kahill joined Owen in May of 2016 to lead Owen’s Development and Alumni Relations team. Most recently, Erik served as Executive Director of Development at Florida International University. He has held development roles with increasing responsibility at the business schools of University of Florida (Fisher School), University of Alabama (Collat School), and the University of Georgia (Terry College). Erik has over ten years in higher education providing executive level leadership and mentoring to staff. With outstanding results, Erik have built diverse and talent rich teams, provided strategic guidance to university leadership, and optimized key team performance metrics by aligning operational performance with institutional mission. He received his BBA in Finance (Business) and Real Estate Investment from the James Madison University. Erik and his wife, Emily (Pruett) relocated from Miami, Florida.
Director of Alumni Relations
Jonathan joined Owen as Director of Alumni Relations in December 2013. His primary responsibility is to grow and sustain alumni connectivity to Owen by working with the entire alumni population in order to create innovative and meaningful connections that encourage a lifelong relationship between Owen and the alumni community. Jonathan came from Fisk University where he was the Assistant Vice President for Development and was responsible for oversight of THE FISK FUND. He previously served as the Chief Operations Officer for the Sigma Pi Educational Foundation, and Assistant Executive Director for Sigma Pi Fraternity. Jonathan brings extensive experience working with alumni relations and fostering value-added relationships. He received his BS in Special Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and his MBA from Middle Tennessee State University.
Associate Director of Volunteer Outreach
Kelley Ferguson is now the Associate Director of Volunteer Outreach for the Owen School in the office of Annual Giving. Kelley will continue to work closely with our office and manage the Owen School’s alumni volunteer efforts, including the ACR’s (Class Agent), Corporate Giving, Class Gift and Reunion Fundraising programs.
Alumni Relations Coordinator
A.J. Carroll is our Alumni Relations Coordinator for the Owen School. He has an extensive background in Alumni Relations and was the Director of Volunteer Support & Alumni Services for Sigma Pi Fraternity, International for over four years, where he was responsible for managing 250 volunteers and 45 Alumni Associations.
