Full-time MBA applications have slumped after several years of increases, down 2 percent for the class entering this fall, according to an annual report released by the Graduate Management Admission Council.
Vanderbilt University's Owen Graduate School of Business, applications were flat overall, says JOHN ROEDER, director of admissions. But international applications fell--more than 50% among applications from Asian countries. Mr. Roeder suspects prospective students who would have applied to Vanderbilt instead chose to stay closer to home and apply to reputable schools in their regions.
